The news came after two other players also tested positive after taking part in a series of exhibition matches that Djokovic organized and played in that took place in Serbia and Croatia. There was no social distancing at the matches, with fans packed into stands, and players casually interacted with each other and partied at night clubs. Djokovic apologized for holding the event. He said they believed the tournament met all health protocols, but were wrong, and that they event was held “too soon” during the coronavirus pandemic.
