The WPIAL continued their basketball championships on Saturday, with several local teams taking to the hardwood:
In girls’ 6A, North Allegheny repeated as WPIAL champions, as they beat Peters Township 79-48.
In boys’ 4A, New Castle won their 12th championship as they beat previously undefeated Quaker Valley 57-52.
In boys’ 6A, Penn Hills denied Pine-Richland of a third straight championship, as Penn Hills won 60-56.
In girls’ 3A, Bishop Canevin won their third straight championship as they beat East Allegheny 56-52.
In girls’ 5A, Gateway won their first championship, as they beat Oakland Catholic 29-27.
