Downtown Zelienople will be buzzing today for their annual Fourth of July festivities.
The parade is set to begin at 11 a.m. and will run along Main Street.
Police will begin closing some side streets starting at 9 a.m. There will also be parking restrictions in town from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Rotary honorees include Grand Marshall Mike Schoeffel recognized for his service in the Army and Navy as well as leader of the Zelie American Legion Riders and 25 years at the Zelienople Post Office. Marietta Reeb will be the recipient of the Tullio A. “Doc” Viola Service Above Self Non-Rotarian Award for her volunteer work over 40 years with the Zelienople Historical Society and Borough Council.
The parade will also coincide with Zelienople’s Community Day, which is held at the Community Park. The Firecracker 5K starts at 7:30 a.m. There will also be live music and children’s activities throughout the day.
