Work for next year’s census will begin soon and workers are needed to help with getting the most accurate count possible.
A representative from the U.S. Census Bureau spoke to Butler City Council during a meeting Tuesday about the importance of the count that will be taken in April 2020.
A variety of temporary jobs are available in Butler County helping with information gathering for the census. Those jobs pay $16 an hour and many will begin at the end of this month.
Officials say an accurate census count is crucial to getting federal funds so local municipalities- such as Butler City- are being asked to form “Complete County Committees” to make sure response level is high.
The census will be able to be filled out online, by phone or by filling out a paper form.
