If you’re heading to the big Garth Brooks concert in Pittsburgh on Saturday, there are some things you need to know.
First off- the parking lots around Heinz Field won’t open until 2 p.m. Doors to the stadium will open at 5 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m.
There will be a Clear Bag Policy in effect. Only bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and don’t exceed specific parameters (12” x 6″ x 12”) will be permitted inside. Small clutch bags- approximately the size of your hand- can also be brought inside in addition to one of the clear bag options.
Big cameras and “selfie sticks” should be left at home, as well as- of course- any weapons, knives and pepper spray.
Garth’s Saturday show is sold out and will break an attendance record at Heinz Field. About 2,000 more people will be there over the usual attendance of a Steelers game. According to Heinz Field’s corporate communications manager Nick Sero, 72,887 tickets have been sold for the 7 p.m. concert. That number could end up topping 75,000 when suites and potential additional seating is added.
Butler Radio’s WBUT 1050 AM gave away five sets of tickets to the concert.
