The longtime president of Butler County Community College has been selected to receive a prestigious local award.
Dr. Nicholas Neupauer of Butler will be this year’s recipient of the Jean B. Purvis Community Cornerstone Award. He will be presented with the award at a dinner later this month.
The award was established by the Jean B. Purvis Community Health Center of Butler County to honor those who have made significant contributions to the wellbeing of the Butler County community.
Under Neupauer’s leadership, BC3 has grown its student body, more than doubled its fundraising, and added five regional campuses, according to award officials. Neupauer has also served on the boards of the Community Development Corporation and the Jean B. Purvis Community Health Center, board chair of the Butler County Chamber of Commerce, and board chair of the Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges. He has also chaired Butler County’s March of Dimes walk and American Heart Association walk.
The Jean B. Purvis Community Health Center of Butler County, located at 103 Bonnie Drive in Butler, is a non-profit, community based volunteer organization established to provide primary healthcare, dental care, behavioral health care and health and wellness education to individuals who have no or limited health benefits and do not qualify for other services.
