The Butler Transit Authority is making an investment to make sure security equipment continues to function properly.
The authority board approved a two-year service agreement at their Tuesday meeting with the company 2 KREW Security and Surveillance of Kittanning for maintenance of video cameras at a cost of just over $3,500.
This contract will cover continued service of the system currently in place at the authority’s Route 528 Park and Ride facility in Zelienople with two preventative maintenance visits included each year. The cost of any new equipment- if determined to be necessary- is not included with this agreement.
According to authority employees, this deal will likely take the equipment through the expected effective life of the cameras, which were purchased and installed in 2015.
