The Butler VA Health Care System has appointed an interim director in the wake of former director Jon Lasell Jr.’s resignation last week.
Sharon Coyle will lead the organization. Her first day was Monday.
“I have been honored to serve veterans at the Butler VA since 2005 and look forward to continuing to serve them and their families in my role as Interim Director,” Coyle said in a statement Monday. “My top priority has always been and will always be the highest quality of care and service to our veterans.”
She has been with the VA since 1999- starting her career at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. She has been in a leadership role at the Butler VA since 2007 when she was appointed as the associate director for patient care services.
Coyle is filling the vacancy left by Lasell, who resigned as the director on Friday, June 14 for personal reasons.
The Butler VA Health Care System provides care to roughly 25,000 veterans throughout the region.
