Michael Gligic overcame an eight-shot deficit to win the Frank B. Fuhrer Invitational and its $40,000 top prize. Gligic won an eight-hole playoff with former PGA Tour player Steve Wheatcroft. Wheatcroft could have ended the tournament in regulation, but three-putted the final hole. Gligic and Wheatcroft survived a three-hole aggregate playoff with Canadian Makenzie Tour member Ryan Lenahan before moving into a five-hole sudden death playoff.
Gligic is currently 11th on the point list of the newly renamed Korn Ferry Tour and is currently in a good position to earn a spot on the 2020 PGA Tour. Wheatcroft and Lenahan split the second and third-place purse and earned $16,000.
Defending champion David Bradshaw began the day with a five-shot lead, shot a 77 and missed the playoff after a double-bogey on the 17th hole of the Pittsburgh National Golf Course.
