A Florida man is accused of using a dating app to lure a victim to a park, where he then robbed him at knifepoint.
The incident happened on Sunday in Cranberry Township, according to police.
James Rooks, 37, of Fort Lauderdale is accused of using the app Grindr to talk with a man, according to court documents. The two agreed to meet at a location on Cross Creek Drive and after meeting, went into a parking garage.
Once in the garage, police allege Rooks pulled out a knife and told the victim to give him all his belongings. Cranberry Township Police say Rooks made off with the victim’s cell phone, wallet, cash and credit cards.
Police were able to catch up with Rooks. He was arrested and is being held in the Butler County Prison.
