The Butler Farm Show is hoping to consolidate recently purchased property with their existing property near the border between Butler and Connoquenessing townships.
The Butler Township Planning Commission gave approval to the proposal during a meeting on Tuesday that would connect three pieces of property near the airplane hangars- totaling about three acres- with the Farm Show’s existing 43 acres.
A representative of the Farm Show explained how the property off Buttercup Road in Butler and Connoquenessing townships was purchased by the Farm Show last year. The property’s current residential zoning will not change.
A single -family home on one of the purchased properties has been demolished but the Farm Show would like to keep a single stall garage as a maintenance building. There are no immediate plans to expand the size of the actual Farm Show event, but this purchase allows for the possibility of growth in the future.
The proposal next moves on to the Butler Township Commissioners who could give final approval to the plan at their next meeting.
