A familiar face was on hand to help usher three Butler Township Commissioners into a new term of office.
The Honorable Judge Marilyn J. Horan administered the oaths of office to re-elected Commissioners David Zarnick, Joseph Wiest, and James Lokhaiser Jr.
Zarnick was re-elected as board president. This is the first time that a federal judge has led the swearing-in ceremony for Butler Township.
Horan expressed appreciation for the opportunity to perform this duty.
“It’s my privilege and pleasure to be here,” Horan said.”It’s a homecoming for me when I’m bacak and doing anything in Butler. I miss it sorely.”
“I’m very grateful for the service you all provide to our community. You’re in the grassroots. It’s a hard job, and a lot of days it’s a thankless job,” Horan said.
Butler Township Fire District officials also received their oaths of office from Horan.
