The Pennsylvania Game Commission is offering several Hunter-Trapper Education classes around the Butler area over the next couple of months.
The first class will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the North Butler County Hunting and Fishing Club. Additional courses will be offered March 21st at Evans City Sportsman Club and April 4th at West View Sportsmen’s Club in Middlesex Township as well as April 25th at the Slippery Rock Sportsman Club.
Game commission officials say a basic hunter-trapper education course is mandatory for all first-time license buyers, regardless of age. The classes are free but pre-registration is required.
To register for one of these local classes, visit the Game Commission’s website, go to “Education” and click on “Hunter-Trapper Education”. Those 16 and older can complete courses entirely online but that option carries a $20 fee.
