In the closest race of the evening in Butler County, it appears that State Representative Marci Mustello has held off challenger Ryan Covert to win the GOP nomination for the 11th House District.
As of Wednesday morning, Mustello was leading the vote count by about 700 votes. The county’s website is reporting that absentee and mail-in ballots are included in their unofficial count.
It appears that mail-in and absentee ballots swung the election in favor of Mustello. As of Tuesday night around 11:30, Mustello was trailing Covert by about 100 votes.
But after those when mail-in votes were counted, Mustello picked up just over another 1,500 votes.
The results are unofficial.
