The Pennsylvania Game Commission is asking for help spotting a certain kind of bird while also reminding hunters of other birds to submit reports.
First, the Game Commission wants to hear from people who have seen northern goshawks or know where they might be nesting. This large and rare forest raptor roams mature, mixed forests in northern parts of the state. This bird has been designated a “species of greatest conservation need” so information about goshawks can help with research and conservation efforts.
With the ending of spring turkey season last month, the Game Commission is reminding turkey hunters that all turkeys harvested need to be reported by law within 10 days. Reports can be submitted online through the Game Commission’s website, phoned in, or sent by mail. The deadline for reporting is Tuesday, June 9th.
