Butler Township has awarded contracts for a couple of paving projects that will begin later this summer.
First, the Commissioners awarded the 202 Road Paving contract to Wiest Asphalt and Paving in the amount of nearly $285,000. This project is expected to begin sometime in the next couple weeks and be completed before school begins weather permitting.
Butler Township roads to be paved tentatively include large portions of Eckstein Road, Artlee Avenue, Randy Drive, Alhambra Drive, Hopewell Avenue, Marshall Drive, Fortieth Street as well as part of Art-Lin Drive, Windsor, Drive, and Carlynn Drive.
The Commissioners also awarded the Preston Park paving contract to Wiest Asphalt and Paving in the amount of nearly $87,000. This project is expected to be completed by the end of September sometime after the delivery of the new restroom for the park
Wiest was the lowest of the two bidders for the road paving contract and the lowest of the three bidders of the Preston Park paving project.
