The Butler Area School Board approved several change orders dealing with capital projects at district facilities this summer.
The first set of change orders is connected to the renovation currently going on at the Senior High School Library and Administration office.
While attempting to move the Telcor PA system at the Senior High, it was determined that new parts were needed but the system is so old that replacement parts are no longer available so a new Carehawk system needed to be purchased for nearly $27,000.
Other change orders approved relate to the paving work done at the Intermediate, High School, and Northwest Elementary. The money used to pay for all of these projects comes from the bond issue undertaken by the district a couple years ago and not from federal CARES Act funding.
