A new non-profit organization is asking for help with their mission of protecting the parks and forests of Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania Parks Fund has been formed to help with the pressure put on state and local governments by the pandemic which is reducing the amount of funding available for parks.
Although our state is home to nearly 6,000 parks and forests, the goal of the Pennsylvania Parks fund is to raise $25 million by next year in order to help 900 of those parks with $25,000 in grant money.
In order to achieve this goal, members are encouraged to choose annual or monthly memberships at different membership levels. Dues are tax deductible and members can receive benefits like calendars, t-shirts, and travel discounts.
