Two local municipalities have been awarded state funding to help with stormwater system improvements.
According to State Representative Marci Mustello, Petrolia Borough will receive a Small Water and Sewer Program Grant for nearly $423,000. This funding will allow for the instillation of over 1,000 feet of pipe and 15 new catch basins as well as the cleaning of existing pipes and catch basins. This work will take place along Jamison Street, Spring Street, and Lower Spring Street.
Mustello also said that Prospect Borough will receive a grant worth approximately $100,000 to pay for the instillation of cured-in pipe lining through 3,500 feet of existing sewer lines that currently have the potential to break. The project will create temporary construction jobs and reduce maintenance costs. The work is expected to be done by November of this year.
These grants will be administered through the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Financing Authority.
