The City of Butler has entered into an agreement to allow a Pittsburgh company to assist with the collection of taxes.
Pending solicitor review, City Council has approved a deal to use software designed by turnKey Taxes to collect all the city is owed.
turnKey Taxes has worked with many other municipalities in the region and is compensated based on a percentage of the previously unpaid taxes that they are able to identify and collect. The City will be able to opt out of this agreement without any penalty.
Taxes such as earned income or business privilege that are owed to the city but not paid hurt the ability of the city to provide necessary services and accomplish necessary projects. The City expects to see collections begin in four to six weeks.
