Gas prices declined locally and held steady across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.49 per gallon which is a decrease of four cents compared to last week.
Prices remained at $2.53 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Jeannette at $ 2.22 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.60 in Oil City and Warren.
The average national gas price also remained even this week at $2.18 which is five cents less than one month ago and 47 cents less than last year. According to AAA, even though gasoline inventories continue to decrease, continued low demand should result in lower gas prices.
