NASCAR announced major schedule changes to its yearly lineup Wednesday. A new dirt race will be run at the Cup level at Bristol Motor Speedway to its Cup Series next season. It will be the first Cup Series race held on dirt since 1970. In other changes, NASCAR has dropped Chicagoland and Kentucky from the schedule, while adding the Road America and Circuit of the Americas courses in Wisconsin and Texas. It’s also ending the Brickyard 400 on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval and switching to the infield road course. The weekend will also feature an Indy Racing League event. Michigan, Dover and Texas will each lose one race – while Atlanta and Darlington get a second race to their schedules.
Nascar will race at Talladega Superspeedway Sunday. Hear the race on WBUT beginning at 1pm.
