A new pavilion honoring first responders is coming to Alameda Park.
A fundraising event was held Saturday at the park in conjunction with the Butler AM Rotary who is helping sponsor the new pavilion.
It’s expected to be in the area of the current Holly Shelter. The new pavilion will also have a memorial dedicated to first responders who have lost their lives in the line of duty here in Butler County.
“We hope that families really feel a connection to the memorial, and with it so close to the shelter, I think it will have a lot of meaning to our first responders, and first responders families,” Steven Green, president of Butler AM Rotary said.
The project is scheduled to begin next year—organizers hope it is completed by 2022.
