Two road improvement projects made possible by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler are complete while a third is expected to be finished within a month.
The first project that was completed by contractor Independent Enterprises included Euclid, Spang, Sumner, and Cottage Hill Avenues. That project required a change order of just over $3,000 for additional base repair along Sumner Avenue bringing the total cost to $208,000.
The next project also involved work done by Independent Enterprises but this involved the reconstruction of Glenn, Slagle, and Standard Avenues at a cost of just over $71,000.
The final project of the reconstruction of a portion of Kaufman Drive had to be delayed in order to allow for the testing of soil to be removed for possible contamination. Following the completion of that requirement, contractor Folino Construction is expected to complete that work by the second week of December at the latest.
The money to pay for these projects comes through the state Department of Community and Economic Development in the form of Community Development Block Grants.
