PennDOT officials are urging drivers to use caution when they are traveling through work zones.
This comes after three separate instances across the state where vehicles crashed into PennDOT crash trucks.
So far this year, there have been 72 work zone intrusions in the state, seven resulted in injuries to PennDOT employees, and 25 caused damage to equipment or vehicles.
A law signed four years ago increases the penalties if you hit an employee in a work zone, you face a $5,000 fine and up to six month suspension of your license.
