There’s still time for families to donate time and resources to local organizations through a special event this weekend.
The United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s Family Day of Caring will take place Saturday.
This event was originally planned as a small in-person volunteer opportunity but has been shifted to a chance to help virtually. Help is needed making literacy kits to assist with the education of kids at home. Families can also help with making kits for seniors who are experiencing isolation due to COVID-related restrictions.
Families are encouraged to sign up for one of the projects and they will be sent a link to a tutorial. Kit supplies can be picked up at the Butler County United Way office today or Friday.
Completed kits can be dropped off back at the local office on Monday, December 1st. For more information, visit the website of the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
