PennDOT is looking for feedback on new ways to raise funding.
The department says they’re facing an $8.1 billion gap in its annual highway and bridge transportation funding. They also say the gas tax, which comprises nearly 75 percent of the department’s funding is becoming increasingly unreliable.
Some suggestions for new revenue include tolling bridges and tunnels, or charging a fee for how many miles you drive each year.
You can submit feedback on the PennDOT page.
