An investigation continues into the death of a Butler native in Nashville, Tennessee.
26-year-old Caitlyn Kaufman was shot and killed on her way to work Thursday night on a highway just outside of Nashville.
Police say someone fired shots into her vehicle sometime between 6 and 6:30 p.m. She was discovered by a police officer who found the vehicle on the side of the road.
Kaufman was a 2012 graduate of Butler Senior High School. She would later swim and graduate from Clarion University, before coming to Butler County Community College to pursue a degree in nursing.
Kaufman had been working in Nashville since 2018 in the Intensive Care Unit at an area hospital.
As of Sunday, the Tennesseean reports that no motive or suspects have been identified in the case.
A GoFundMe page has been started to help cover the costs of Caitlyn’s funeral.
