Pauline Rosalie “Polly” Boyle, 95, of Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong Co., went to be with the Lord December 9, 2020 at Fair Winds Manor, Sarver, where she had been a resident for nine months, following complications from COVID 19.
Pauline was born in Chicora on August 3, 1925. She was the daughter of Otto G. and Josephine K. Hildebrand Nyberg. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Clayton E. Boyle. Mr. Boyle passed away on June 28, 2003.
She was a 1944 graduate of Chicora High School. Polly was a faithful lifelong member of St. Patrick Parish, both in Sugarcreek and Brady’s Bend, and attended Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora.
Polly loved to spend hours reading or listening to music. For more than 70 years she lived on the farm in Sugarcreek and raised her three daughters and two sons. She enjoyed filling the farmhouse with the many antiques she collected over the years. Pauline will be remembered for being a kind and understanding listener which endeared her to friends and family. Her resilient attitude served her well in life. Pauline will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Pauline is survived by her children, Linda (Duane) Guthrie, Zelienople, Joanne (Daniel) Johns, Fenelton, Fred Boyle, Sharpsville, Donna (Robert) Christner, Allison Park, and Larry (Alice) Boyle, Sarver; grandchildren, Duane (Kimberly) Guthrie, Gibsonia, Todd (Veronica)Guthrie, Allison Park, Marissa Guthrie, Zelienople, Amanda (Michael) Minicucci, Allendale, NJ, Darren Johns, Cranberry Twp., Emily (Brian) Saslo, Clarks Green, Aaron (Jillian) Boyle, Boise, ID, Clayton (Nicole) Boyle, Sharpsville, Eric Boyle, Cortland, OH, and Jamie Boyle, Sarver; great grandchildren, Madalyn, Kamron, Lydia, Samuel, and Jack Guthrie, Grayson, Cole, and Amelia Minicucci, Addison and Cora Saslo, and Ethan and Cameron Boyle; a sister, Shirley (Richard) Graham, a brother-in-law, Richard Garber, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Polly was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty (Clair) Thoma and Jean Garber, a special nephew, Ronald Thoma, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dorothy (John) Steiner, Genevieve Boyle, and Mary Jeanne (Patrick) Rodgers.
A private Funeral Mass will be held Friday at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, Chicora, with the Rev. Matt McClain, church pastor, celebrant. Interment beside her husband will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong Co. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora.
