David A. Schmid, age 90, of Petrolia, passed away December 10, 2020 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Born February 8, 1930 in Butler, he was a son of the late Rodney and Rachel Reardon Schmid.
He was a chief in the U.S. Navy for 21 years and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
Following his retirement from the U.S. Navy he worked for Witco Chemical Corporation in Petrolia.
His interests included hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Dave is survived by his three children, Ed Schmid and his wife, Kathy, of Bowie, Md., Jeannie Horner and her husband, Jesse, of Butler, and Heidi Patterson, of Mercer; six grandchildren, Brian, Erin, Ben, Sarah, Tyler, and Kylie; two sisters, Alice Manno, of Harrisville, and Marian Schmid, of Vandergrift; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie, who passed away February 10, 1973; and three brothers, Larry, Richard, and John Schmid.
There will be no visitation, and funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Saint Anthony Cemetery, Harrisville.
