A local municipality has been recognized with a regional award for significant improvements to building a skilled workforce in the area.
Butler Township was named Butler County Employer of the Year by the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board at a meeting last week.
The award highlights the collaboration of business and workforce development in Armstrong, Butler, and Indiana Counties.
Butler Township has 44 full-time employees and three part-time employees. Over a third of those employees are older workers. Essential Road Department employees were provided with Personal Protective Equipment by the Township during the pandemic.
According to the Tri-County Board, Butler Township has shown a commitment to their employees and Butler County through their workforce programs as well as a history of partnerships with PA CareerLink.
