Gas prices inched up locally while they dropped a bit across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, rose to $2.45 per gallon which is four cents more than it was a month ago.
Prices decreased by three cents to $2.52 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $ 2.19 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.66 in Mercer.
The average national gas price held steady this week at $2.16 which is four cents less than last month and 40 cents cheaper than this date last year. Demand for gas has dropped over the past month while coronavirus cases continue to remain high so AAA expects the trend of gas prices remaining relatively low to continue.
