Gas prices declined locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, dropped to $2.37 per gallon which is eight cents less than it was last week.
Prices decreased by five cents to $2.47 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $ 2.16 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.64 in Bradford.
The average national gas price rose this week at $2.22 which is six cents less than last week but still 33 cents cheaper than this date last year. Even with rising crude oil prices and tightening of supply AAA expects the extremely low demand for gas to keep prices relatively low.
