Thanks to support from the community, the Butler Radio Network was able to collect nearly 600 pairs of socks for this year’s “Socks for Seniors” campaign.
579 pairs of socks will be delivered to local Butler Meals on Wheels agencies to be included with meals given out this week. This is slightly less than the number collected during last year’s campaign.
“Socks For Seniors” was started in Columbus, Ohio in 2002 to help seniors keep their feet warm in the winter. It has since spread nationwide and is done around the holidays, which can be a particularly difficult time for seniors.
