With the winter season and the need for increased isolation due to the dangerous spread of COVID-19, many people are dealing with increased stress, anxiety and loneliness.
With older adults especially at risk for COVID infection as well as fewer family and personal connections, the PA Department of Aging’s Office of the Long Term Care Ombudsman is offering help.
At the next Virtual Family Council meeting from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, speakers from the Center for Loss and Bereavement will discuss counseling and support services available for families.
The following virtual meeting will be held on February 23rd and talk about a pen pal program to connect long-term care residents with school-aged children.
Families will be able to ask questions at both meetings however specific issues involving a particular resident or facility will not be addressed.
