The City of Butler Parks, Recreation Grounds, and Facilities Authority is investing in new concessions equipment as they begin to welcome fans back to the ballpark.
At their meeting Monday night, the authority approved the purchase of a pizza oven and a pizza warmer from North Pittsburgh Showcase in the amount of nearly $1,600.
According to a representative of the Butler Hot Dog Shoppe who handles concessions for the Authority, an electrician has been called to disconnect some equipment that will be removed from the kitchen facility such as a freezer. That equipment could then be turned in to help cover some of the cost of the new equipment.
It has not yet been decided if the new oven will be electric or gas. The new warmer will be able to hold up to four pizzas worth of slices and will also generate heat and humidity to prevent the pizza from drying out. This purchase will also include a small flat-top unit.
This equipment is expected to be installed and ready for use at Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park by next weekend.
