The number of candidates looking to replace U.S. Senator Pat Toomey continues to increase.
On Monday, Montgomery County Commissioner Val Arkoosh announced her candidacy for the Democratic nomination. She joins Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman, and State Representative Malcolm Kenyatta of Philadelphia who announced a few weeks ago as the most notable names in the race so far.
On the Republican side Jeff Bartos, who ran for Lieutenant Governor against Fetterman, is seen as the leading candidate so far. He’s joined by Montgomery County native Sean Gale.
It remains to be seen if any other candidate will join the race—including Congressman Mike Kelly of Butler, whose name has been floated as a candidate, but he has not publicly expressed interest.
