The Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau continues to make preparations to host the Can-Am Police-Fire Games in 2024.
Over 1,000 first responders are expected to participate in the Games, which is a series of Olympic-style competitions featuring skills that first-responders use during their day-to-day work.
During their meeting Thursday afternoon, Bureau administrators provided an update on the progress of preparations including finalization of the approximately 50 events that will be held. The next step is to meet with venues to decide where each event will be held.
Even though the event is still three years away, the Bureau is also working on lining up sponsors as well as launching a website for the Butler County Can-Am Police-Fire Games in the near future.
Participants will be from the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions as well as Canada. Butler County was chosen as host in the fall of 2019.
