Since Broad Street Elementary School will be reopening this fall, the Butler Area School District will once again begin to receive financial reimbursement for work done at the school.
A total of about $1.5 million in state reimbursement funding will be dispersed to the district over the next nine years through the Department of Education’s Plan Con program.
Plan Con returns a percentage of money back to districts that spend on school facility improvement projects such as the one that took place at Broad Street about ten years ago.
The reimbursement stopped in July of 2015 when the district chose to stop using Broad Street as a school due to consolidation and considered selling the facility before deciding to open it again later this year.
