Gas prices continue to rise both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, increased to $3.20 per gallon which is three cents more than last week.
Prices also rose to $3.17 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week which is an increase of two cents. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Warren at $ 3.07 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.22 in Clarion.
Even though the average national gas price dropped by a penny over the past week to $3.03, this is still the most expensive gas has been heading into Memorial Day weekend for seven years. AAA expects pump prices to fluctuate as a result of a decline in crude oil prices.
