A Vietnam veteran will be honored during Chicora’s Memorial Day Parade next week.
The annual event is back on after canceling last year due to COVID-19. At this year’s ceremony, they will be honoring U.S. Navy veteran Gary Lee Fennell who will be receiving the Navy Commendation Medal with Distinguishing Devices.
The guest speaker for the event is Lieutenant General John Sattler, who is the former Director of Strategic Plans and Policy for the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The parade starts at 10 a.m. on Main Street in Chicora.
