Electricity is back on in the Center Township area.
According to West Penn Power’s website, at one time this morning over 1,000 customers were affected.
Our newsroom spoke to West Penn Power and they did confirm that around 5:40 this morning, crews were dispatched to the area of Hendrick and Spring Run Roads after a transformer reportedly exploded. Yet, no evidence of such an incident was found.
Regardless of what took out the power, by 7:30am, about 100 customers were still left without power. By 9 AM, the issues seemed to have been resolved.
Crews are continuing to work on finding the source of the issue.

Electricity is reportedly out for many in the Center Township area.
According to West Penn Power’s website, at one time well over 1,000 customers were affected. That number has since been reduced. As of 7:30am, about 100 customers were still without power. Around 9AM, there was not outage indicated on West Penn Power’s website.
Crews were dispatched to the area after a transformer reportedly exploded around 5:40 AM in the area of Hendrick and Spring Run Road, but according to West Penn Power, no evidence of such an incident occurred.
Crews are continuing to work on finding the source of the issue.
