Anthony R. “Tony” Gregory, age 85, of Butler, passed away Thursday in Allegheny General Hospital following a brief illness.
Born March 26, 1936 in Butler, he was a son of the late Samuel and Margaret Allen Gregory.
Tony retired from Triangle Gasoline Company, where he was employed as a salesman.
He was a member of All Saints Parish, Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where he was a longtime volunteer. He was also a member of Tanglewood Senior Center.
Tony is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shelva “Chub” Cypher Gregory, whom he married September 27, 1958; four children, Margaret “Peggy” Kroll and her husband, Rick, of Renfrew,Carla Gregory, of Saxonburg, Sam Gregory and his wife, Kathleen, of Columbus, Ohio, and Toni Noble and her husband, Don, of Renfrew; seven grandchildren, Tiffany, Brittany, Bekah, Ali, Eythan, Dalton, and Jordan; and five great-grandchildren, Jayla, Omara, Hayden, Jaycee, and Aubrey.
Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Dominic Gregory, who passed away October 13, 2010; and one brother, Michael Gregory.
He was a man of true faith. He found great pride and joy in spending time with his family. His sense of humor and love of life brought so much happiness to everyone who knew him.

Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Due to the Fourth of July holiday, there will be no visitation on Sunday.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 5, at 10 a.m. from All Saints Parish, Saint Michael Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler, with Rev. Kevin C. Fazio officiating.
Burial will follow in Saint Michael Cemetery.
