The public is invited to hear a local author and Butler County Community College graduate read from her book this weekend in neighboring Mercer County.
21-year-old Ellaura Shoop will read from her self-published paperback titled “The Meer: Perilous Ground” at Keystone Safari in Grove City Sunday from 10 to 3 p.m.
This 260 page middle grade novel is the first in a series exploring the adventures and tragedies of meerkat families in the desert. The novel is intended for kids ages 11 to 14 and Shoop will sign copies of the book at the reading.
Shoop graduated in December from BC3’s Linden Pointe campus in Hermitage. She also plans to read from the novel on Thursday (7/22) at 6 p.m. at the Slippery Rock Community Library.
