Two people were flown to the hospital after a crash that shut down a stretch of Route 8 South yesterday.
The two vehicle accident happened around 2:20 p.m. near the intersection with Brownsdale Road in Middlesex Township.
It’s unclear what caused the accident, but police believe the driver may have suffered a medical issue prior to the crash.
Dispatchers say the two people suffered serious injuries, and needed to be flown to a Pittsburgh trauma center. There’s no update on their current condition.
Route 8 was shut down in both directions, before reopening around 4:15 p.m.
