A police investigation into shots fired in downtown Butler has resulted in charges filed against a local man.
According to Butler City Police, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Greenview Drive shortly after 3 a.m. Friday.
A male identified as 49-year-old Larry Alexander was found to be pacing the top floors of an apartment building with a flashlight in one hand and a .357 revolver in the other.
Police were able to convince Alexander to peacefully surrender and found a bullet hole in the door of one of the apartments. Alexander allegedly admitted to being under the influence of cocaine.
Alexander is being held in the Butler County Jail on charges including felony discharge of a firearm in an occupied structure.
