A local state park will again host a popular seasonal festival this weekend.
McConnells Mill will host the 29th annual Heritage Festival- sponsored by the Portersville-Prospect Rotary from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
This year’s festival will celebrate the operational time period of the historical gristmill, which ran from 1852 to 1928.
Those who attend will be able to enjoy free tours of the mill, and vendors as well as art and craft demonstrations. A Civil War encampment will offer another unique experience. There will also be live music throughout the day too.
There will be no charges for admission or parking at the McConnells Mill Heritage Festival. Current health guidelines will be followed. A portion of McConnells Mill Road and Kennedy Road near the Kildoo Picnic Area will be closed to vehicles during the event.
