A new plan between Pennsylvania and surrounding states aims to help reduce gun violence.
Governor Tom Wolf announced a Memorandum of Understanding with the governors from New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut to share gun crime data.
“If we want to reduce the scores of gun violence, we have got to work together in ways we have not done before,” Wolf said. “We’ve got to work with our partners within our states and our communities, but also with each other. And I think this can be a very powerful, innovative way to approach this position.”
Wolf and other governors say this move will help find straw purchasers, firearms traffickers, and other criminals.
Wolf noted that gun violence rose by 48 percent in 2020.
