A local fire district is warning residents to be aware of a fundraising scam circulating the area.
The Harmony Fire District recently said that people in the community were receiving a letter in the mail detailing an effort to raise funds for the “Harmony Area Fundraising Drive Appeal.”
The letter goes on to mention police are under attack and that donations should be made to the National Police Association located in Strafford, Texas.
Harmony Fire officials say that it’s a scam and no money benefits Harmony. If you donated to the cause, they recommend contacting your financial institution.
