The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Winnipeg Jets 3-2 in a shoot-out Sunday afternoon at PPG Paints Arena. Sidney Crosby scored the game-winning goal in the shoot-out. The Pens completed a three-goal comeback after falling behind 2-0 in the first two periods. Kasperi Kapanen and Jeff Carter scored in the third period. Tristan Jarry stopped 27 of 29 shots on goal for the Pens.
The win was the Pens 16th in their past 18 games, and they have moved to within a point of the first-place New York Rangers in the Metropolitan Division. Their six-game home-stand will continue Tuesday when they host Arizona.
Penguins’ defenseman Kris Letang played in his 900th career game Sunday. His 10-game scoring streak came to an end in the game however. It was the second-longest streak for a defenseman in Penguins history, behind Hall of Fame Paul Coffey.
